2003 Silverado Passenger Seat Adjustment

Recommended Posts

Posted

I've lived with a very loosely attached manual front passenger seat 'fore/aft adjustment bar' since purchase in 2003. I just 're-attached' the bar yesterday after a passenger pulled the bar off when adjusting the seat. On closer inspection, the bar has two mounting points inboard/outboard toward the rear underside of the seat/seat track. The inboard point has a white 'clip' that the bar loosely fits over (should it be snug?). The outer point has no clip for the end of the bar to fit over. Should there be an outboard clip? The bar is not very snug in its attachment at all. I've performed keyword searches on the net and can't find anything of much help. I've even checked my Haynes repair manual. The 'bar/lever' is pictured on pictured in image '29.2b' on page 11-22 (Chapter 11 Body) where seat removal is described in the 1999-2006 Haynes Repair Manual for the Chevrolet Silverado GMC Sierra. However, it is not referenced by name.

Need some help/guidance.
