Yeah...They are pretty mean lookin'...The local Ford dealer here had one,It didn't last long either. They say the later model year ones are going to offer a 400 horse 6.2 w/6spd.tranny,Hmm....'bout time they match GM! (Although its a $3000 option :) )

if they even do make a baja silverado, it better be comparable if not better than the raptor. theres no point in making it ifs not.

i wouldnt mind one of the 427 silverados they are badass!

The Dodge Ram SRT 10 was the one that made my private parts tingle. But then, I'm a MoPar fan from way back. Who will ever forget Daytona in 1964 when Richard Petty, Jimmy Pardue and Paul Goldsmith brought their Plymouths in first, second and third. Ahh, those were the days. But I digress.

If I had any customizing skills, I would like to take a V12 Jaguar XJS coupe and give it an El Camino style bed. Should haul at least one bale of hay 150 m.p.h. with no difficulty.

If you are really bound and determined to have a Baja pickup, you could always buy the turbo-charged Subaru.

And the GM 6.2 is only a $1K option.

GM could make a beast of a truck if they wanted to. Of course it'll be made in Mexico. :)

Exactly what I was thinking! There's no point in making it if it's not comparable or better than the raptor. People would probably just go for the Raptor and the "Baja" Silverado would probably be discontinued. From looking at the pictures, it looks pretty cool. If they make it, I cant wait to see one in person. And WilliamBos, I'd love to see if GMC will have one too, but something tells me they won't. It'd be cool though.

The thing about this "baja edition" is that the video where the pictures came from is showing stuff that will be on show at the SEMA show. SEMA is a vehicle customization show, so GM might have just made this truck to promote the Silverado. Remember a couple of years ago when GM showed the Diesel HD Suburban with the Silverado front end, that was at SEMA, and that was never even close to production. I kinda doubt GM will produce a dedicated offroad truck, it is such a small niche, and GM is focusing more on smaller cars now.

What it might be showing is a sneak peek at what a mid-life refresh would look like for the Silverado, or it is just showing accessories that will be available in the near future. Or it could be showing what a "All-Terrain" version of the Silverado might look like.

Now if GM does produce it, it will hopefully be awesome, but I am more exicted for what is in store for the updated HD trucks with the redesigned frame and updated Duramax.

Yeah, but they also first showed us the Camaro at SEMA as well and they are building it now. I think you are right about the re-fresh idea to. Actually the new nose of the 2011 HD trucks will be the best re-fresh. With a full front bumper...............and NO Ears!

I'd drive it!

Especially if it has (like it looks in the pics) to have 4 wheel steering.

The QS4 option was an exercise in futility. Way over-priced initially & was never a success.

Also, what you see isn't what you always see.

Around the Oshawa area there was a Chev GMT800 w/ a tall offset hood blister. My brother was talking to the chap driving it 1 day. Turns out the truck had the complete diesel setup (induction system as well) for the next generation full size van.

Just a mule.
