Bad Wipers

Since the day after i bought my 93 Sierra the wipers are all screwed up. They run all the time. The only way to shut them off is to unplug them from the wiper motor. Now would the fault to this be the wiper switch or the actual wiper motor itself? Thank you for the help.

'Could be either. My 79 El Camino would do that after getting the wiper motor control circuit wet (under the hood on the motor assembly). I don't know if your truck and my El Camino share any features.

Switch or stuck relay. Motor is just a motor its just is just run and run. When it receives a pos and neg signal it goes. I would trace the switch and relay and with a truck at that age its gotta be a relay. Kinda like those signal relays that get stuck when its really cold out or a starter relay that wont engage.

Make sure its grounded. If so, replace the wiper delay board.

it is a circuit board problem.

Yes, it looks like a switch or even a wiring issue. Unplugging the fuse might help too. Haven't heard of your case though, it's usually a non-working wiper. I suggest you have a trusted technician take a look at it.

Control board problem...my 98 did just the opposite. When it was dry, the wipers would work, but a lot of times, wouldn't work in the rain. Researched and found that there was an issue with the control board housing. IIRC, it was not completely sealed and would allow moisture into the housing causing solder joints to corrode. I pulled the housing out, resoldered the joints, and sealed with some silicone caulking/sealant and never had the problem again.
