jro909 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 just curious what you guys all thought is the better choice? i've heard horror storys about steel wearing out the drivetrain..i'm running steelys atm and i do notice a bit of lag on stopping and going, already more then halfway through new breaks...just curious i'm lookin into alloys for summer
Nytemare Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Steel wheels don't weigh much more than alloys man....if at all. I know guys with 24" chromes that weigh in the area of 95lbs and they have no ill effects on the drivetrain. Its a little hard on front end parts if you take corners hard...but that's about it. And BTW...you said ATM...
jro909 Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 sorry i'm among the generation that is slowly becoming retarded from constant texting via cell phones lol...thanks for your reply man, would go up a tire size from 255 to 265 or 285 have a negative effect besides the speedo?
Nytemare Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 only on your wallet...your gonna burn more gas I went up to 265/75/16 on my truck. And I'd wager 70% of the guys here have larger than stock tires on they're trucks. You didnt get the ATM thing did you....LOL ATM = Ass To Mouth
jro909 Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 lol what can i say i'm a sucker for the brown eye..ha ha just kidding
