Ok well i need new tires for the truck. I have a 01 gmc sierra 4x4. I was looking at either the

Goodyear wrangler silent armor

BFG long trail TA Touring

Cooper prospector all terrain

any suggestions? Have you had any of these before? Any feedback would be great.

... those are all good brands and likely would serve you well

.. my preferred tire is the TOYO OPEN COUNTRY AT

.. and I prefer to have LT rated truck tires ... not P-rated passenger car tires on my truck

.. LT tires are more stable when handling a load and/or a trailer

I have the BFG Long Trail T/A Tour and have been very pleased so far. They are wearing very well, they have 7000 miles on and have only lost 1/32- 2/32 of tread (yes I used a tire depth guage to check). They are quiet and stable on the road and they have a very high treadwear so I'm hoping to see 50,000-60,000 miles out of them.

The Goodyears are cool... AND they are American made. I believe the Coopers are as well but I hav4e no Cooper experience except for a set of STs on my Jeep..

The Goodyear Silent Armor were the best tires I ever had, very pricey though but if you can afford them I think they are an excellent tire.

did you find them to have a lot of road noise or have a pretty quiet ride overall?

Toyo A/T would get my vote, but I might also give GoodYear Wrangler Authority A/T a second look. The down side is that they are an exclusive Walmart tire, but they are GoodYear’s and they are made here in the U.S.A. From what I've seen and heard, they are a pretty good tire, and so far are wearing really well.

If I remember they were fairly quiet, not a typical "loud" tire at all.

Saw the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor's and they look like a well made tire. The local store has a sale, four 265/70-17, mounted for $799 +tax.

I'm not crazy about the raise white letters but...eh. They look beefy!

the sweet thing about that is you mount them the other way. i like the white but some don't

I thought about mounting them with the white lettering facing in but then with the high stance of the truck, you could see it on the inside at certain angles. I think it would look kind of strange that way so I'd either mount them with the white lettering on the outside or choose another tire.

Still deciding whether or not I like the white lettering. Honestly, it ain't grabbing me but that could change. With the high visibility of the white letters, I need to paid for advertising their tires. :P

I always rattle can flat black the letters on the inside of the tires. Never been able to see any yet.

Hey, there's an idea. Maybe some Wranglers are in the cards...

It works like a champ and stays on as long as you own the tires. I've done it many times.
