Service Code P0332 Mod$10

with the check engine light coming on I checked the codes and my scanner read P0332 Mod$10 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (bank 2) and P0332 p/d Mod$10 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)

I cleared the codes and the vehicle 2004 Yukon 5.3L went about 30 miles before the check engine light came back on with the same codes.

I am trying to determine why it generated 2 codes almost identical and do these codes imply a faulty knock sensor itself or possibly something else.

If anybody could give me insight on determining how to resolve this I would be greatly appreciative.

Thank you in advance for all and any feedback.

If you have a code...chances are thats whats gone....the 2 codes being the same...thats related to your scan tool.

However...It could be that a wire is chaffed....not likely though.

Have you done anything around the knock sensors lately??

Thanks for that input! I really appreciate it. You know i have not been working around the sensor but it is possible i have had some mice invade through the heater box. They chewed on some wiring there? It is possible those little b..........s got the wiring going to the sensor. As I stated the engine light does not come on immediately but maybe after driving and starting again.

Thanks again

Could be man....have a look around and check the continuity of the wires to that sensor. Get yourself a Haynes or similar manual to trace the electrical system.

Good luck...and get it fixed..the knock sensor is pretty important.

You might have to pull the intake and check to see if the holes in the valley that the sensors are in, are not full of water. It`s a common problem on truck gen 3 motors.

do you think this truck 2004 5.3l has two knock sensors? I have an 88 305 pick up and the knock sensor was on the lower side of the block.

what do you mean when you say "intake". I am thinking old school as in intake manifold ? ouch

Thank you in advance

There are 2 sensors under the intake manifold. Just remove it and the sensors are then accessible.

thanks i see a similar post showing their location.

I just had the this truck into the dealer searching for a water leak. So of course i am thinking there might be a connection here.
