Blend Door Actuator

Recommended Posts

Hi, like others I have been experiencing a heating problem.

Engine temps: good

Coolant level: good

Air Flow: good

Installed new blower

Flushed out heater core.

I am leaning toward the blend door actuator needing to be replace. However since it is Christmas time I do not want to buy one yet.

My question is:

Is there anyway to open the blend door and prop it open to allow warm air until I can purchase a new actuator and install it?

I hope someone here has an answer. It's really un-comfortable now with winter settling in.

Thanks in advance.

Mine didn't go ut but just clicked a lot. Can you still get defrost to work? Does the head unit show that you are selecting hot? Can you select fresh air and get heat to come in that way? Mine is a 92 and I haven't been in the saddle lately, I need a refresher...

No clicking noises or anything like that, no problems with anything, no leaks from the core. Just doesn't blow a really good warm air. Lukewarm at the most. I recently was playing with the settings and I can get it a little bit warmer using recirculated air but when using the defroster it will not get very warm at all.

What is your engine temp running at?

It runs right at 210* Very confusing. Everything is running perfect mechanically just seems as though it won't circulate warm air. Feeling the boxes under the dash they are warm. Just thinking the blend doors don't want to open.
