UPD Induction for 5.3 Avalanche

I chose this induction option over the FIPK because I get water coming up under the hood whenever I drive in the rain.  The UPD retains the factory airbox, but includes a flat K&N filter and a new cover the airbox.  The stock airtubes with all the baffles and chambers are replaced by a straight-through plastic tube.

All parts and good instructions were included.  Installation was easy.  Only tricky part was the final joining of the airbox & MAFS with the UPD tube.  Here it's best to have two people.

I feel improved throttle response in the low and mid-range.  I think it's a good complement to the Gibson catback.  There is a bit more rumble coming from the exhaust now, but no noticeable increase in underhood noise.

Fuel economy may have improved about 5%.  I used to run between 18 and 20 MPG.  Since installation of the UPD, I've filled up twice and seen 19.7 and 20.9 MPG.
