Transmision Flush

Hey guys, this is my first automatic vehicle, the no clutch is still confusing and wrong, so Ive got question, is a auto tranny flush worth it??

I've heard pro's and con's about the flush. I just took the pan off, and drained it that way. I replaced the filter, and refilled with fresh fluid. Doing it that way doesn't remove all the old fluid, unless you have a day or two to let it all drain out. If you do the two hour drain & fill, only add about 3 qts to start with. Check the fluid level, and add as much as you need to get it to the full mark.

Yes it is.

When I do mine I use the return line to so. I go to the junk yard and get a used return line and cut it, so it will lay in a drain pan. Then I use a funnel on the good return line, start the truck up and let some fluid drain out first, then start pouring in the new fluid, watch the old line until you see the fresh fluid come through, shut it off, reconnect the hose. Then I drop the tranny filter and replace it, then top everything off. If your not 150% in doing this and have a buddy to help out, then pay someone> .

i heard that having a shop flush your trans fluid is bad as they force fluid thorugh at a high pressure and it can cause particles to become stuck in your valves. Just change the fluid and the filter
