I think that is about the right price for it, maybe even less. Definitely wouldn't go up. Trucks similar to that (maybe minus leather) are a dime a dozen especially if you aren't worried about mileage.

Agreed. High mileage trucks are easy to find, and a great bargain if you don't mind having to fix some things or catch up on neglected maintenance.

lol. no kidding. I think 10K is fair for that truck. It has what I want in a truck. heated leather, 4x4 ext cab.

Then there was no reason for this thread unless you just wanted to show off who you get to spend 10k on.. I mean with .

I sold my 1st one at 136k miles. I still see it on the road assuming its got 200k by. Expect a new transmission maybe not right away but before 200k for sure. These engines are good for well over 200k miles imo. I paid 17k for my white truck in my sig with 27k miles. To me the way a truck holds its value, if your getting a loan for it get a truck with under 60,000 miles. The older I get the less I like fixing other ppls maintenance issues. I'm only 26 lol. Ive seen trucks for 10k with less than 100,000. I sold my 2000 for $7500 with 136k miles on it (description in sig) that was almost 4 yrs ago. Find something with a hair under 100k miles. 24,000 is 2 more years of driving.

The NADA book said that truck has a clean retail of $10275.00. I couldn't get the Car Fax to work on that truck. I would definately ask for a Car Fax report. Although Car Fax dosen't always give true mechanical reports it will show if the truck has ever ben in a accident, or has ever had body repair......I would start at 9000.00 if I really wanted the truck...

CarFax will only show information that has been reported to it. If somebody crunched a fender and paid for the repairs out of pocket, that will not show up on CarFax. CarFax has also been know to get bad data when it comes to odometer readings too.

It may be a good guide but CarFax should not always be the sole reason to make a final buying decision.

I would ask the dealer if you can take the truck to an independent auto repair shop for a Used Vehicle Inspection. These typically will cost $100 to $150 but you get a disinterested party to look at it and give you a written report of the trucks condition. It's cheap insurance especially if they find something and you take that back to the dealer and use it in price negotiations.

Good point about CarFax - I have seen where numbers in the VIN have been entered wrong at a repair shop and it be on the wrong vehicles CarFax - one I know of was a new truck setting on a local dealers lot and it stated the truck had a new engine in it. Then looking into it deeper the truck had been sold by another lot about seven months prior and had been blown up by the customer. So I agree do not let CarFax be your decision maker - take it to a qualified mechanic and have them go over it.

That truck looks familiar. I am driving a Pewter version of it with 145k miles. $10k is more than fair.

Yeah I'd say its fair....Price on that truck here would be around the 18K mark..negotiable. So you could potentially get it for 14K in Canada...Which seems right on par as our vehicles are priced about 25-30% higher than yours.
