huero626 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Well today I removed the rear blocks on my truck, how do I loosen the truck bed to put in the drop shackles? Were are the bolts located to loosen the bed? How many bolts are there for the truck bed?
wcortesi Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 It's been awhile, but as I recall there are six bolts going straight through the frame into the bed. I just loosened the back 4 so I wouldn't mess up the alignment of the bed. I used a 2x4 or a 2x2 between the frame and the bed and the rear tire to pry the bed up enough, as I recall. If you look under the bed, it's pretty obvious which bolts attach the bed.
huero626 Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 Here is a picture of the rear lift blocks, truck rides the same without them. The truck looks way better without the rear blocks, can't wait to install the drop shackles.
66nova Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Did you install new U-bolts? I don't know if the extended cab and the CC is different, but my truck is pretty much dead level with just the Shackles. By the way, where are the pics????

My belltech drop shackles kit comes with spacers to reuse the stock U-bolts, right now how my truck sits it is still 2 inches higher in the rear. I'm thinking with the drop shackles installed it should be level.
