Siping Tires

Living in Michigan we get lots of nasty weather and just had about 10" of snow dropped on lower michigan last week. I had the stock Wrangler AT/S's on my stock wheels but they have really gone down hill in the last year and my snow traction has been terrible. So not being able to afford new skins i put my summer rims on with 285/65/18 BFG AT/KO's on them. these are load range E tires so the ride isnt as nice as the P rated Wranglers. I found the BFG's not too much better in the snow. I stopped in at Discount Tire to look at a couple brands of tires and discussed the BFG's with the salesman. He said he has run the BFG'S for years with excellent results. He suggested having the tires siped ( for those of you not familiar with this its basiclly cutting very small slits across the tires to give more biting edges). I had them do it and was very impressed with the results. I drive through most slippery stuff now in just 2WD....changing to Auto 4WD for the worst conditions and for pulling out in traffic on icy slippery sufaces. I dont do much in the way of rock crawling so i am not too concerned about the tires chunking because of being siped. So for i am very happy and these tires now perform the way i think they should. I tested them out on some higher speed cornering ( on dry pavement) and found no negitive effects of the siping.....Anybody have experience with siping?

Discount tire is one of the few places that i know does this. I think they charge $10 a tire. I will post a pic soon.

I didn't know this was still being done. How much did it cost? Any chance you could post a pic?
Here are some quick pics i snapped with my phone. I only had the center section siped so the higher speed handling is still crisp.
