I WAS WONDERING IF MY TRUCK WAS PRE-WIRED FOR A TRAS TEMP..SO IF I WERE TO BUY THE GAUGE IS IT PRETTY MUCH PLUG N PLAY..THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Easy on the CAPS.......

 

If you get yourself a cluster from a 2500+ for your year (other years may work too), the 2500+ clusters come with a trans temp gauge. This will work on your 1500. The information is already there, just no means of displaying it on the cluster than comes in the 1500.

Of course you'll have to get your dealership to re-program the cluster for the mileage.

Yes, I did the swap in my 03 and loved it. I got the Escalade Platinum cluster. One of my fav. mods

 

Less than 10 minutes to swap too. Just remember if you get a new cluster, your mileage and hour meter will need transfered to the new cluster. If you purchase from ebay, there are many sellers doing the programming for you for free or a small fee.

Or you can just buy something like an Aeroforce or a ScanGauge and monitor your Trans Temp as well as other items.
