Temperature Sensor

I'm getting greedy for information today, as I just posted a switch question. I hope you all don't mind.

My GMC Sierra (new body style) has a spiffy rear view mirror with a compass and temperature display.

The compass is fine (I think based on the fact that I found my house tonight). The temperature indicator, however, has an attitude problem!

This morning it read something like negative 4 F and tonight it was in the 80's (It's really 20 something F outside.) This has been going on for a few days. I tried switching it off and on a few times as well as going from F to C and back. I'm guessing (hoping?) the sensor connection is dirty. But ... I have no idea where it is. Do any of you know?

I realize this isn't a big problem, but I like to keep my truck as close to "Problem Free" as possible. (picky, picky, picky)

I figure, if I keep fixing the little things as they show-up I'll be happier. If I let a bunch of little things stay broken, before too long I'll think my truck is a piece of junk! I prefer the former.

Thanks for nay input you can give.

The sensor itself is located behind the grill, mounted on a diagonal support bracket just in front of the radiator. If you have automatic climate control, there will be two sensors, one on either side of the radiator and I'm not sure which is the ambient sensor and which is for the climate control but you could check them both. If the sensor is bad I'm thinking that it wouldn't be all that expensive for a new one.

Thanks Sir Dan! I'll check it out in the morning. I'd bet this will be an easy junk yard find- or a simple clean-up job (wishful thinking!)
