Water Spots/ Clear Coat Etching

Recommended Posts

I use a clay bar for water spots. Then wax right after. As for spider webbing of the paint a buff would prob be your best bet. Wity my pewter '99 I used Mequires scratch remover on the whold truck, then ran two coats of tech wax over it. It took out most of the light scratches.

Thanks for the fast response i only have a small patch on the hood that has the clear coat etched and its only when you look at it under certain lighting conditions...so i think i may just clay bar the truck and add a coat of wax since i dont want to have to buff the whole hood for only a small spot on it...Thanks

Clay bar FTW!

I use meguiars... Very easy to use. The kit comes with the "quick detailer " that is used as the lubricant. Puts a finish on there that should come from factory.

I just used the Meguiars Clay Bar Kit two days ago. First time using a clay bar. I really had to use alot of the lube spray to prevent the clay bar from sticking. Threw a coat of Rejex on it afterwards and it does look great. First wash in 6 months so i figured id give it a good one. My paint is still perfect looking except where i scratch it using the bed.
