Well i received my Bluestar 2010 module and started to install.

The onstar module is behind the panel that is below the radio. It is easier if you take the panel under the steering wheel off and the radio panel.

There is a philips head screw behind the ashtray

This screw is under the emergency brake release lever and there are two more philips heads screws on the bottom part of the panel.

There are two more screws on the middle panel that need to be taken off before you can pull off the panel.

And there it is! What GM makes so difficult for us to have the onstar module!

Simply follow instructions and you are done.

I have a BlackBerry Curve that i have because of work and it works fine. My wife has an iPhone and I think that it works better. Voice command sux with the BB but is excellent with the iPhone. Sound is better with iPhone also threw the speakers.

Volume controls work and when you hit the mute button on the steering wheel it prompts you to "say a command", also hang up by pressing the same button.

I left the module in the foam bag that it came in and used a zip tie to secure it to the onstar bracket. I also hooked up a usb cord so I wont have to take everything apart when I get updates to software.

Done!

I hope that unit doesn't need heat dissipation.... the foam wrapped around it might be a problem if that's the case.

Otherwise, looks good!

Sweet! Thanks for sharing, quick question though when is it you ordered it? I just checked on their site and they say it is on backorder at the moment because of high demand.

Very good point on the heat disipation, I did open both ends up and hopefully i have no problems.

I ordered last week threw the group buy that BJONES put together. I was one of the lucky ones that had waited a while to get in on it and one of the first to get in on the group buy.

Anychance that this plays music through it as well? Looking for something that plays music and can take calls. I have a motorolla t505 right now which is ok but uses an fm modulator to play through radio again it's ok.

Great product almost a necessity anymore with states now banning talking with the phone to your head in almost all states!!

It is not capable yet but it is set up that way. Costar is working on a software upgrade that will let you play music threw it and also the caller id will display on the dic.

No adapter. I used a regular usb to mini usb cable from a camera. It works the same.

Reason I asked is my Samsung Moment uses a micro-USB connection, and the only cable I have for it is a regular USB to micro USB.

How much was this setup if you don't mind me asking?

The only reason the Bluestar box has a USB on it is for software updates. You should not have to hook up your phone to the box for audio streaming. It will play music from your phone threw bluetooth once the software update comes out. If you look at the pictures it does have an auk jack on it.

Check out their website

Group buy pricing is $225. I think you can still get in on it. Get a hold of bjones on here and he can give you all the details.

I'm going to install Pac-Audio OS-4 in my truck. Can I still install bluestar with Pac-Audio OS-4 together?

I think you will be ok.

But I would make sure with costar

My main reason for USB connection is to charge my phone. Does it do that?

Not that i know of.

Im sure you know they sell chargers that connect to your lighter socket with usb type connection. Thats how i charge my wife's iphone.

I just got mine yest too. Very impressed. I think I need to do some tuning though because no one can hear me at highway speed. Chris at CoStar got right back to me and gave me a util. I'll be trying it this weekend.

Also, I didn't remove the radio bezel. I only removed the knee panel which exposed the screws to the middle panel.
