O2 Sensor

Does anyone know why a vehicle would go through 02 sensors frequently? I've had my truck for 3 years now and it went through 1 if not 2 a year. It's quite an inconvenience, so if anyone knows why or has a solution that would be great.

Which 02 sensor? Front or rear?

A shot cat could potentially screw 'em up...

Have you checked the tune to see what else is going on?

I believe i've been through all of them to be honest. I don't think it's the cat, the truck only has 60,000 miles

Reinstall your rear O2 sensors with some spark plug defoulers and your problems with rear sensors will go away, at least temporarily, until you can tune them out permanently with a PCM tune.

Make sure you are getting the correct sensor! Have the truck's VIN used to select the sensor. GM used/changed suppliers during model runs often. At the independent parts store I work at part-time, we use the VIN often to assure the correct part. We are "old school", and use computers, books, and "ancient" wisdom. David

Some off the shelf gasoline additives can bugger up O2 sensors if used frequently as well as some silicone gasket sealants.
