Windshield Washer Won't Shut Off 07 Gmt-900 Sierra

I have an 07 GMC Sierra new body style....47,000 miles.....just yesterday I hit the windshield washers, they came on and then would not stop! I'll tell ya, its pretty hard to see with all that fluid spraying! I had to change lanes and pull to the side of the road so I could shut the truck down.....the washer switch was not responding. Shutting the truck off stopped them. When I started the truck back up, I tried turning them back on and nothing. Today I try them again and same thing, they would not stop and I had to pull over and shut the truck down.

 

Any ideas how to solve this? relay i can replace or something? I would really hate to pay a dealer to fix it.

 

On a side note, just burnt a headlight bulb out a few days ago and I need to buy and replace them....looks like fun

 

Any chance these two issues are related? Is my truck falling apart? time to buy a Ford? LOL j/k

Did the sprayer knob return to the "off" position? If not possibly a stuck spring or something.

I manually turned it back.....nothing.....turning it back and forth does nothing...seems to be "electrically" stuck.

We just had one in the shop with this problem. Unfortunatly, I'm not sure how the tech fixed it, but I'm almost positive it was some kind of wiring problem.

that stinks.....if you could ask the tech tomorrow, that would be extremely helpful....

 

I jumped in the truck tonight, started it up and the washers came on immediately and would not shut off until I turned the key off. This is not a problem I was expecting....blown fuses or burnt out headlights I can handle, but I sure don't look forward to tracing a wiring problem down in this thing.

At least your windshield is clean

 

Pull the fuse, Other than that you have a curcuit stuck open.
