Buyer's Dilemma

So, I'm faced with a dilemma of sorts:

Currently I have an '07 CCSB Silverado 2wd with the 17" swiss cheese chrome wheels wearing a used-up set of Wrangler RTS tires. (Note: Have a second set of same rims mounted with 2145/70/17 snows already)

On Craigslist, I find this:

Now, they're Americraps, but they're new and buy me some time... and I could sell my spare chromies. In the two years (three?) it takes the Generals to wear out, I make sure I have the coin for option 2 below:

For about the same coin, I can put a set of Bridgestone Dueller REVO2 on my existing rims, lose the upgrade to the 17" alloys but get better tires. They'd work better than General, last longer, etc. etc.

So the dilemma is, for neutral (or maybe a bit more) money, do I upgrade the rims via Craigslist, suffer with Americrap for a couple of years, then get Bridgestones, or just get Bridgestones and to hell with the alloys.

Budget (wife) says no to aftermarket rims, and to buying the Americraps for the rims, then flipping the rubber on Craigslist - Americrap is a bit of a tough sell.

Opinions?
