Just did mine last week. I used a sledge and hit it from the front with a long 1/2 extention. I then went to the back under the truck and hit it from that side. I went back and forth until it was able to move forward and drop the key. I whacked it really hard and it took a while, but once it released, it slid easily. The other side came out by hand, go figure. In putting the keys in, I had to beat the first one in. I then realized on the second side if I tested it on the bar before installing it, it would be easier. I cleaned up the inside of the key with a file to remove any burrs and it went in very easy. Hope this helps.

I went with new keys just to get them even. I maxed them both out, and was 1/2" lower on the left. My tires wouldn't quite clear so I went with new keys to get that extra 1/2" on the left.

I recommend the Cognito upper control arm with drop ball joints when maxing out the keys or going up 2-3" with new keys.
