It Is Between The Suburban 5.3 Ltz Or The Yukon 6.2 Slt

I had a chance to test ride both vehicles and was able to test a vehicle without Autoride. I think I am sold as I could really tell the difference.

Now I just need to decide which vehicle to get. The Suburban 5.3 LTZ and the Yukon XL 6.2 SLT are only a couple hundred apart.

I will be getting the towing package and intergrated brake controller, and video system for the kids.

6.2 go big or go home...although i love my 5.3 it pumps enough power to do most things but dosen't massacre the wallet at the pump

I say if you're going to be towing go with the 6.2. A bigger motor never hurts............except at the gas pump.

Is the 6.2 AWD? I looked at the 6.2AWD and the 5.3 4WD when I was buying. The 6.2 is saweet but the bigger engine and AWD killed the mpg, put it in the 12-14 range I believe.

If you're gonna tow, get the 6.2, if not, get the 5.3 that way you get better mpg. People will tell you there's a very small difference in fuel mileage between the 5.3 and the 6.2 but there IS a difference and it adds up...

There's no replacement for displacement.

+1. And there's no substitute for........uh, i can't think of anything that rhymes. I have an '05 Suburban with the 5.3 and I say go for the 6.2 and don't even think about the mileage. Just think nice thoughts about what a great ride you've got.

Real world under similar driving conditions, the 6.2L is really only a 1-2 mpg diff. Worth it IMO for the extra power and engine sound.

Hands down, 6.2

Real world, I'd bet the 6.2 does better mileage with that heavy Yukon than the 5.3 would.

If you're towing I'd go with the 6.2L because I don't think that you'd regret it for the extra towing capacity. Although I think that both sound like awesome trucks and in reality I don't think that you'd regret either one.

i think only denalis are awd, but dont quote me. me, i prefer the 4wd- and i dont know if you can get the g80 with awd either. but the 6.2 is sweet.

Comparing city driving my 6.2 Silverado 4wd 6 speed gets about 13 mpg. My 2wd 5.3 4 speed gets about 14. The 6.2 is much more fun to drive too

would never buy a 5.3 if i had the option between the two again. Owning the 6.2 makes this vehicle much more fun and effortless to drive, pulling out into traffic onto a highway, etc. huge difference, well worth the 1-2mpg difference (personally i don't see that with my Denali, getting 13-14 around town my 5.3 got the same.
