Whats The Best Tire You Have Used?

So im am looking to buy some new tires and as everyone knows it can get costly. Right now with economy and Gas, its hard to do much modding if your always buying tires. In this topic just post your experience on tires that you have purchased in the past or that you might have now... Maybe this topic will come in handy to alot of people. Brand Name - Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac

Tire Size - LT285/70R/17

Type - Load range D, 8 ply.

Mileage - only about 1000 so far.

Tread wear - N/A at the moment.

I wanted a mud tire, but needed something to last a while and not too loud on highway. I did some research and found the DuraTrac's to be the tire for me and I love them! I haven't gone thru deep mud, but have been on a lot of slick/nasty camp roads this spring and the tires just grip well and never had to use 4x4.

Paid $987 for set of 4.

I had a set of Cooper STT Mudders in 265/70-17 and I loved them. They were amazing off pavement. The tread spacing was just the right size for the dirt roads here for rocks to stick in between tread and shoot off behind you and chip paint on your rocker panels. Other than that they have lasted 20k miles or so. No complaints other than they were really loud on the highway

I ran a set of Pro Comp Xtreme M/T's on my f150. 305/70/18. I loved them. I got about 40,000 miles out of them and they're great in soft mud as well. Not loud either

Not sure of the size, on 15" wheels

These things last about 60,000 miles NO JOKE, even if you just read ratings online, especially if you do a oil change rotate every time.

Great tires, All Season, and they last a long time, they even have a nice little bit of tread.

They are also pretty darn cheap, I actually got mine for free off of a clunker , but they are about $120 a piece for fifteens

have the cooper stt's in a 275/65-18 C range. love the tires, but very loud, and as mentioned above very good rock slingers. i have about 32,000 miles on them now, but 2 of them are in awesome shape. i had a wheel bearing and 2 ball joints to go out, which F'ed my 2 of tires up up so bad that rotation was not possible, due to some bad BAD wobble. Awesome in the mud, and holds wet pavement very well.

Michelin is the best tire on the road, in my opinion, but they don't really have an aggressive mud tire.

I've got LTX A/T's on my truck (their all terrain). they are ultra quiet and ride extremely smooth. Cost is about $275 each.

I've had firestone destinations; they were crap. Bridgestone duelers; they were crap. BFG a/t, pretty good tire.

I don't go bogging in the sierra, but do a lot of dirt road cruising and around the farm, and the michelin's have performed well in moderate mud. never tried in deep mud.

DITTO, I have used them on my 95 Suburban, 60,000 miles 265/16s, My 01 Denali 265/17s and now my 02 Tahoe 265/16s. The Denali had 30,000 on them when I sold it and they looked brand new. My Tahoe has 28,000 currently and they look great. I like them for the quiet on the road, good handling and long life. I drive in snow quite a bit and they are very good for a semi street tire. I have used most other brands but settled on these Michelins. I just wish I had bought the 285/16s for a better look.

Great tire. Traction went away after about 60k miles, and didn't track as well as new. Traded truck with 85k miles on tires, still passed inspection, but too worn for me.

Jobsites tended to clog the tires and throw mud for about 200 ft of road through sub-divisions. For this reason alone, I am looking for a more aggressive tire so it won't carry as much "yard" off property and onto the road.

Mastercraft Courser M/T's were nice. They had so much tread, it was 15k miles before they were worn down to where any other tire would look like new. Awesome sidewall. I'd say you'd get 40k and still have some meat left if you wanted to stretch it.

bf a/ts 245 came on my old truck, noisey but wore awsome

general a/t2 grabbers on my current truck 255s payed about 850 for them and they are awsome, they have a little rumble to them but its a frickin knobby tire so i don't consider that a complaint..they demolish snow and mud, i had to stop driving through my yard because they cut threw the swamp of the lawn, not just sank and and spun like the usual tire...same deal with snow, its like having a snow blower on each wheel, i got headstrong and took the weight out of my truck to see if i could get stuck and not once did i, i had snow up to the lug nuts and it kept on going lol..
