Hello, my name is Rick B. from south central Idaho. I am 35 years old for the last 17 years. I am a heavy truck and equip. mechanic and due to the downturn in construction I have just opened my own shop. I had been asked to do this by several people that I had done side work for over the last several years so the time seemed right to go ahead and take the plunge. :flag: I came across this forum when I put a search in on an ABS light problem on an 07 GMC 2500HD :lol: and liked the way answers were given to questions people had. I havent got the problem fixed as yet but got some good spots to start on from this forum. Keep up the good work and I will try to help where I can also. My service truck is a 82 GMC topkick, 3208 cat power, 10,000 lb boom, A/C, cat yellow with a 12 in. wide dark blue stripe, welder, torch setup, with an engine mount air compressor. It has been used more than my shop since I started. Shop 40x40 and needs to be 80x80 when you start putting all the tools in that a person needs. I hope that this wasn't to much of an introduction and thanks to those responsible for this site and the answers that it supplies.

How many hours are on your 3208?

 

 

There are 400 hrs on it since I installed it. The whole truck has been refreshed by me before I had bought it and is in very good shape. The only thing that it needs is a little higher gearing 65 mph-3250 rpm.

So far the business has been going very well. I had a couple of business's start giving me work and then word of mouth from them have brought in enough more that there is no free time right now but no complaints about that as its building faster than I thought it would for this time of year. One of my customers told me that they were glad they found me as they had lots of equipment and absolutly no maintanence program. They have been a VERY GOOD customer. :(
