I did the big bowtie on the tailgate and the Z71 stickers but I am still on the fence about the door emblems. I am thinking the Vortec Max one needs to go.

This is also the first pic I posted since I put the Go Rhino steps on. I hoped they would fit up a little tighter but they aren't bad. I did lose a bit of clearance though, so the truck looks a bit lower to me.

I say you lose em too, that way the VotecMax will be your own little secret. A sleeper if you will, did you remove the Silverado ones on the tailgate too? Oh yea, don't forget those GM chicklets too.

I just did the bowtie on the tailgate, left the Silv and LTZ. Vmax will be noticeable to the astute who know the exhaust exits the rear instead of the side. What is the thoughts on stripping the moulding off the door?

My thought is there will be glue EVERYWHERE!!!!! . It would look clean without them though. Since I'm not doing the work I say go for it. :flag:

The clean up isn't too bad, but the mouldings might have a lot more. The bowtie took quite awhile to clean up after since all the adhesive stayed on the body and not on the emblem.

I lost all tailgate emblems and the GM emblems on mine... but I still have the SIERRA on the doors.

IMO don't do it! After a few visits to the local mall or shopping center you will regret taking them off. I can't tell ya how many times they have saved my doors from ignorant people who can care less about other people's vehicles. Unless your into the dent pulling biz then just leave em, they really aren't that bad since they are PTM.

Keep the moldings. The slab-sided GMT900's look weird without them, IMO.

As for the badges, get rid of all of them. This was my last truck and it was as badge-free as it could be. Check your frame rail and remove those stickers there as well. They are more noticeable than you think to passers-by.

Glad you could chime in, this thread would not have been complete without your input daddy. :(

Thanks for the input fellas. Basically confirmed my thoughts.

My buddy had an 05 2500 that had the side moldings removed and it looked real good. Since I've got a few dings in my rear fender at work I can imagine what the doors would look like in 6 months.

I would remove everything except the VMax and the moldings.. There is just something about the Vmax badge that I love. Sometimes I think of buying one so I could pose as a VMax. :) I know.

but don't lose the moldings. They help out way too much to remove and I don't think it would look right

Quick question for you guys:

What do you use to get the adhesive/tape/glue off the truck after removing emblems?

I saw a guy use a "rubber eraser wheel" once that seemed to work, but I can't find one.
