I know what the problem is and it is not major. How do I reset the light without a scanner?

you unhook the battery for 30 seconds...5 min or so to be sure its gone...but if you haven't fixed the problem it will just return.

Goto, AutoZone or ORielly's or what ever auto part store is in your area, they should let you borrow a code reader and go out to the parking lot and reset your service light. I done it to several onf my past vehicles.

I saw in AutoZone that there is now a law in California that prevents them from letting you use a code scanner, something about them not being allowed to diagnose anything. They can sell you a scanner, but not borrow. I'd love to know what that's about (I have my own scanner, but still curious).

yes its law most places, because if the issue is risking safety by them wipeing it off the truck they would be liable...if you have a good relationship with your local parts place, they will still do it though...but most of the time they will tell you what it is and start offering you parts
