Tow Hooks

I just purchased a 2006 2500HD Crewcab. No tow hooks on the bumber. The previous owner took them off and can't find them.

 

I went to (2) seperate chevy dealers. One states you can buy a pair but are listed for the 1500 and another dealer states you have to buy each seperate for big bucks.

 

Does anyone know what the deal is and where I might be able to order a correct set. Or does anyone have a set lying around and would be willing to sell. I'm in the market. Thanks for any help.

Are the tow hooks same for 1500, 2500, 3500, HD's?

 

I had my tow hooks removed when I got my body lift on, but my truck is 1500.

Both dealers are morons as usual: Take the following to the dealer and tell them to order the part numbers listed no questions asked

 

There is a left and a right hook listed for the 2500 series

 

15709128 left side listed at 41.07 but for 25.20 on GmPartsdirect.com

15709129 right side listed at 41.07 but for 25.20 on GmPartsdirect.com

 

11514598 mounting bolt 2.46 you need two

11517236 mounting nut 2.04 you need two

11516788 mount bolt .52 you need two

 

If you go the GMpartsdirect.com route remember the ridiculous shipping they charge. I vote for the junkyard.

They are not the same. Or my 1500 and 2500 they are different....... The 2500 has drop forged ones. Quite heavier than the 1500's..

I believe GM Part #12496037 is for the HD tow hook kit.

1500 and HD tow hooks are different. I don't know if they are interchangeable but I recommend you put the correct ones on. They are larger and more heavy duty for a reason.

Yeah the bolt pattern is different on my 1500 and 2500..... So is the frame............ I guess I need to find the 1500's in the extra parts shelf and take one off my 2500 and take some pictures.... I pulled them off my 1500 I think the same day I bought it...... TATATATA it never gets anywhere I would have a need for them.... My 1500 lives on black top and concrete.....

I met JG1418 yesterday to see the ones I have off my 03 1500 Z71 would fit. NO GO. 1500 ones I have are to wide to fit in the frame pockets to bolt them up on his 2500 HD.
