jiminycricket Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hey guys, i've got a 99 sierra with the 4.8L with 25xxxkm and it doesnt seem to have much power...i was thinking on giving it a complete tune up, plugs, wires, injector cleaner and intake cleaner to see if it will get any more "umph". i got the tranny rebuilt. You guys got any other ideas that mihgt help? Also i put a new alternator on and it has a really annoying whining sound to it. Do you think i could grease the bearing and it will go? thanks

Add 15-20+ rwhp, better shifting, better throttle response, and the ability to read and clear codes, and datalog the PCM if you desire. Thanks Mike

wurgs Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Predator is a handheld tunner, can order online. Lew told me about a site Marylandspeed that has them for $325 shipped with the pc hookup so could do a custom tune later if you choose.
amtz.zero Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 The Diablo predator is a handheld tuner and you can order it from pretty much anywhere they sell truck accessories. But yeah, for more power, you need a tune.

I know they carry them and they have very good deals on them. Plugs/wires will help a lot...if you havent been using injector cleaner every month or so...thats where your gonna notice a big increase...fuel may be cleaner than ever...but its still plugs up injectors and stuff. Search on here about seafoam...and do that to your engine. There should be a half million posts here about it and how to use it.
