Another Door Speaker Question

Here is what I want to do...

I want to leave the bose entirely intact. I have purchased a PAC adapter to add an amp before the bose amp. I am pretty confident I can wire it up (As this won't be my first time and I am an electrician by trade). I want to add 2 more 6 1/2 door speakers (Which I have already purchased) into the front doors. The bose cover on my front doors is huge considering there is only one speaker behind it (2006 SD if that makes any difference) . Has anyone here tried, or seen it tried, to add a 6 1/2" just above the bose 6 1/2" in the door? I will be pulling the doors off later this week to see what is what but I was hoping someone could save me the time.

If i find it can't be done, I will need to resort to the small speaker under the dash for the chimes. When this is done doesn't the music coming through with the chimes sound terrible?

I will appreciate any information you guys have.

dont know why you would want to cut another big hole in the door, but I dont think it will clear the window.

Maybe it is a pipe dream but I have seen it done with 4" speakers. When I get the panels off I will see what is what. I will take pictures and post what I find if I can pull it off.

Above the factory speaker, you'll run into all kinds of interference. You MIGHT get one of those pancake 4 inchers in there. Replacing the horrible BOSE speakers with something good would be a much better option.

Thanks for the response. Last night I was thinking I could move the bose speaker up and put the aftermarkets in below. but after doing more research I think the risk of screwing up cutting my door panel out weigh the benefits. I guess I will just replace them and do the small speaker under the dash as so many people have done. Oh well I thought it was a neat idea.

Pardon me for calling the Bose speakers junk. They are just not that great of a driver. A lot of folks have gone with something of better quality and had great results. I recommend the MB Quarts myself!
