Does the aluminum driveline make very much difference? Would an extended cab duramax drive fit on a extended cab 2500HD gas?

Not without modification...The Allison is a much different beast than a 4L80E

 

An Al deiveshaft is lighter...so it makes a difference in rotating mass. Also, the Al ones are rated for more torque than a steel shaft.

 

Leave your driveshaft alone...it wont make enough difference in any way to warrant you spending money on it.
