Testdrive Sierra Denali

Hi there,

I just wanted to say that two days ago I did my testdrive in a 2009 Sierra Denali and boy what can I say.....this truck is awsome. It´s a fullsize but it handles like a limo. My actual car is a 2007 CLK 550, so it´s very small compared to the Sierra but I had no problems at all to get along with the truck from the first moment.

Let me tell you this : I am used to a fit and finish that is second to none, and I already drove the Expedtion, Durango and the Aspen. But no one of the American carmakers has a better fit and finish in my point of view than GM. It starts with the doors...just opening them I could feel how solid they are and they closed so good...everything felt and looked good inside. I was just blown away

The engine is awsome too...this truck is mighty and heavy but it felt nice to see the needle going up that fast :D ... well, I do not compare it to my CLK 550, but IMO it was pretty quick for a truck of that size and I guess I can smoke all those SUV´s driving around here...

So I ordered it in white with the cashmere interior. Here are the options I took and that were available for the 2010 model year. If anybody has any ideas of what I might be missing or forgot about, just tell me. I can still change it till next week...

It´s gonna be here by the end of may...shipping alone takes 21 days to Europe :D

Here´s my optionslist :

Rear Seat Entertainment System

Rear Audio System Controls. Includes Radio: AM/FM Stereo w/MP3 Compatible CD/DVD Player. Includes DVD player with LCD display, wireless headphones and remote control

Radio: AM/FM Stereo w/MP3 Compatible CD/DVD Player

USB Port. Includes seek-and-scan, digital clock, auto-tone control, Radio Data System (RDS), speed-compensated volume and THEFTLOCK.

Power Sunroof w/Express-Open

Retracts into roof

Power Rear Sliding Window

Electrical Rear-Window Defogger Delete

6" Tubular Oval Chrome Assist Steps

Regards

Why don't you add Touchscreen Navigation to your list? Even if you know where you are going it is nice to see the estimated time of arrival displayed on the screen.

I love my Nav. Not only for the navigation but for the overall functionality of the touch screen unit.

Totally agreed. I wouldn't have a vehicle without touch-screen NAV after having it in both of my current trucks.

Why would anyone order the factory navi? It is over priced and it lacks options. I have a Kenwood DNX7100 with backup camera, bluetooth, Ipod, and XM and it is cheaper then factory with all of the options I have and it still has more features. Just my opinion.

Doesn't look stock, doesn't have 100% plug and play integration with the rest of the vehicle's systems, etc.

Some people prefer OEM parts.

Congrats on the new SD. I love my 07.

I like how the NAV controls everything else with the touchscreen, but the NAV and the software itself is horrible. I bought my wife a smaller tom-tom for occasional use in her car, much better interface. I even received a upgraded disc for my NAV has year, still can't take me to my house and I've been here for 20 years.

Congrats on the truck! :D

GM really hit it out of the park with these GMT-900 trucks! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. We will require pictures when you get it though

The next time you are at your house in your truck just touch the screen and save the location as your home. See I solved your problem in 10 seconds.

I noticed the same thing when test driving different models in 08. The GM trucks felt the most solid from the tailgate to the hood.
