New Guy With Some Questions (2008 Sierra Denali)

First time poster, long time lurker.

I just bought a 2008 Sierra 1500 Denali (white with cashmere interior) with 2,300 miles on her and have a few quetions.

Well, first I just want to say that I LOVE this truck and the 6.2 is sooo much nicer than the hemi I gave up.

So anyway, after searching this forum I could not the find the answers to these questions so I hope someone can help:

1. will 285/55/20's fit one these wheels? I really liked my BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's on my Dodge so I am hoping I can put them on the GMC as well.

2. I have the Nav/DVD player and was wondering if there is a way to be able to watch the DVD player while driving. I had a car a couple years ago that was reprogrammed by a local tuner which made it possible to watch a dvd while driving. Is there anything like this available? I know, I know, shouldn't watch while driving but my wife likes to....

3. I bought the 6" oval step bar for the truck from my local GMC dealer and was wondering if this is an easy install or should I have the dealer do it? They quoted me $200 to put them on and I think that is a bit on the high side.

4. Touchy subject: Borla or Corsa exhaust if I want something on the tame side but just a leeeeetle more growl than the stock exhaust. There has to be NO RESONANCE....

Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

As far as the last 2 questions, the step bars are an easy install. I did this on my 03, but i know the 6 inch ovals are just as easy, and from what i have read on here.

Also if you for sure don't want any drone, go Corsa. They are for sure no drone.

Brian,

1. If you hve the stock 20's on your denali, if i remember corrrectly they come with 275/55/20's from the factory. 285/55/20s will fit with no problem.

2. As far as the navigation goes you can get a gm lockpick and install it which will unlock the dvd while driving, personally I dont see spending over $200 to have the ability to watch a video while I drive.

3. The step bars are not that hard to install at all. If you have a buddy that would be willing to help hold them in place you could do it.

4. your exhaust is going to be a touchy subject. I think most aftermaket exhaust are going to increase the resonance in the cab a little. I just chose a 70 series muffler swap with dual out. I have a little more resonance inside the cab but it is not overwhelming. Some people on here have just taken the resonator off to increase sound and that it did not change the interior cab noice much.

Mjdxtreme,

Thank you very much for the great information. Yes, the stock tires are 275/55/20 but I was not sure if the stock wheels could accomodate a little more width but I guess they can which is great news.

Also, I like your all-white front bumper. Did you get it painted or did it come like that?

Thanks,

Brian

Installed the 6" oval steps on a 2500 Friday. A friend and I did it in under 30 minutes. Very easy!

Corsa is the only system with a patented construction specifically designed to eliminate resonance/drone inside the cab of the truck. I just installed the Corsa Sport system Sunday. Very high quality, excellent fitment, and great "muscle-car-like" rumble (outside the truck) at idle. Don't notice any difference, from stock, in noise (inside truck) during idle and cruise speed. But when you hit the gas hard, the exhaust wakes up!! Not too loud, just a good "old-school" growl!!

This is a perfect exhaust if you don't want the neighbors to hear you unless you WANT the neighbors to hear you....AND NO DRONE!

I actually had it painted. I took it off and had a local paint shop paint it, then reinstalled. Turned out great.

I was there for there step install, and he is being modest. It took him about 15 minutes. Oh, and it was my 2500. Thanks again.

I also had the opportunity to hear MS3DALE's Corsa. If you can listen to one, you will buy it. It looks great as well.
