Thats cool,although he's driven the #3 before at Daytona,also in the Nationwide,then Busch Series.

Last time Jr. drove a Wrangler sponsored car was in '97. Busch Series #31 Wrangler. One of my all time favorite rides for Jr.

He has...i believe it was the Nilla Cookie Car or something right? I have the diecast but was to young to remember it in 1997...i was 10 then....

 

I hope its like a few years ago in the orange Menards car where he dominated the race...and the end it stuck in gear i think so he just held it wide open and thankfully their were no restarts at the end.

Yes,That and an OREO cookie car as well,He ran them off & on in the Busch series from '01 to '04.

Well, some plans fell through tonight to go out (I ended up baling haying at home later then expected), so i watched the race from last night (Friday's race), and will watch tonight's race tomorrow.

 

But man what a race! Dale Jr won it! I didn't think through the whole race he really would, i just kept my cool but the last half lap i was like he is actually going to put this off!

 

Its pretty cool since:

 

- First debut for the new Nationwide car, and the #3 wins it.

- Jr won't be running this car again, so glad he could win and step back with pride

- Chevy wins the debut of the new car (I know there was an earlier post about the Camaro not getting the role of the new car, and like i said if the Impala keeps winning i don't care.)

 

I am just glad to see all the hard work by everyone that put the whole thing together, and for him to not get caught in a wreck or something stupid like that and for him to be able to win. In the first part of the race i wasn't to sure and at the end was glad he stayed out, and that enough cars stayed out with him, and also the Green White Checker ended it and they didn't have to have the other two, that mighta really shaken things up!

Finished 4th in the Coke-Zero 400, after having a terrible car.

Just got done watching the race and he really did have a terrible car! Wasn't up front at all...but like he said pretty lucky to get through all that craziness and come home 4th. Chicago should be a good track for him.

 

I think i am going to have to buy a 'raced' version of the #3 car...I am sure they will make it.

Yep, they make one. I bought it last night, will deliver approximately Feb of 2011. So i have awhile to wait for it, but oh well. I am going to put it at work, i have a nice display case on my desk, so i will put it there. I tried to buy the 'color chrome' version, which only 333 are going to be made, for $20 then the regular version. Figured it would be sold out and was, on ebay they are going for up to $300 for them and they aren't even built yet!

jr deserved fridays win, but luck got him the fourth place spot sat night (terrible car)

 

I think it would be cool to have wrangler as a sponsor on the 88 tho

      I have A 2020 1500 5.3 8 speed. LTZ. Transmission problems since 60,000 miles. Started when I go to store in morning to get my morning coffee before work leave truck running get back in put it in drive/ rev no movement step on gas a little slams into gear. Put in neutral step on gas little shake then put in gear and gose.  Shut truck off start .. ok now at stop light stop truck after a few seconds feel a little kick if that doesn’t happen stuck in 3/4 gear shut truck off wait few seconds and start usually ok again. If you down shift manually ok as long as you get into 1st before stop. If not it kicks . I WANT A NEW TRANSMISSION. Now I want a new truck it just hit 80,000 IDK IF ILL BUY CHEVY CAUSE THEY STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM AND REFUSE TO RECALL . Oh I’ve changed the fluid and filter 3 times now. And yes used mobile 1 not ac/delco cause it’s not meeting the requirements that mobile is did use ac/delco filter

      While waiting for parts I have been working on installing the AC compressor, new accumulator, and orifice tube. Also changed out the high side ball valve (original). The orifice tube that was in there wasn't too bad. Slightly dirty, a little bit of junk, but not blocked. Glad I changed it out.   The accumulator, which should have been a 5 minute job, may have just burned $50. Put some PAG in it, wrote the date and mileage on the side, fresh o-rings and gooey'd up the threads and rings with Nylog. Got everything connected and snugged and was going to vacuum down the system, and....   My manifold gauge won't fit on the port. It's not an R12 service port. It LOOKS like an R134 service port but the diameter is a hair too large. There's a sticker on the accumulator that says it's designed to be used with R12 and R134a systems only. So it's not R1234yf. Even if I reduced the diameter slightly with a file, the shoulder on the port is too large so the quick-connect valve won't lock on. I'm stumped. It's going back, and 50/50 on if they'll give me a refund.   Also, I did a fuel pressure test.... Key on, the gauge spikes to about 60psi and quickly bleeds off, like 2psi per second. The fuel isn't going into the plenum, no smell, starts fine, so I'm guessing there's a bad check valve in the pump and the fuel is just draining back into the tank. oh, hell. But, it shouldn't be a problem, pump primes just fine and the truck starts right up. It just means I can't really ever use fuel pressure to verify a leak at the injector or intake.
