I'll start off by saying this may not be a big deal, but it's the first time i've seen it happen on my truck.

I drive an '04 Sierra 2500 6.0 2wd w/ 3.73 gears and 75,000 miles. My normal transmission temp is 140-145 and sometimes gets to 160 depending on heat. Today the temp was around 145 before I got on the highway and went up 30 degrees within a 9 mile stretch, my rpms were higher as well. At 60 I am normally at 2,000 rpm, today was 2,200. At 75 normally 2,500 rpm today was 2,700. The transmission shifts fine and the fluid is still very pink, there are no codes and I'm worried there could be something internal making the rpms rise. Truck is stock besides exhaust and 265/75/16 tires. Thanks for any feedback

Sounds like your torque converter is not locking. This will cause the symptoms you describe. Higher temp and rpm.

The TC is where heat is generated in the trans, except when it locks then there is no heat generated.

Problem is probably electrical as the computer controlls lock up.
