Need Some Advice On Suspension!

Hey guys,

Currently on my 2010 truck I have a 2.5" level kit on the front and a 3" block in the back (removed factory block). Right now my truck is sitting about 1" higher in the rear over the front which is good but when I hook my trailer up it sits level or even alittle less than level. So I am debating on a couple of things. One I can remove the 3" rear and replace with a 4" block...however ever the service guy told me I should change the shocks if I extend them that much out. The other way is adding another leaf spring. He recommends going this route. He said I could keep the 3" block there and add the extra spring, it would not raise the truck so much as it would help with the added load. But he also said I would sacrifice my ride since a leaf would stiffen it up. I guess another way would be air bags...but I am not very familiar with those.

Any suggestions to which way would be better?? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Personally of the options you've presented I'd go with air bags. They'll give the least impact on your ride quality when not loaded down, and work very effectively when you are loaded.

i agree with Charlie... air bags are your best option here:

1) they will not add rake

2) they will not change the ride when unloaded/aired down

3) they will improve handling when towing (springs or blocks wont) such as better sway control

4) they're adjustable for different loads

5) they're designed and meant for this exact application and are not expensive... so why not solve the problem with the proper solution?

$.02 =)
