More Dic Talk.

Does anyone have the DIC switch and dash part numbers? I was over at GMparts and could't find the dash number.

It's all over in this thread however its 40 pages. I'd suggest starting on page 40 and working backwards. There is a part number for the switch and dash piece as a package, then there are two other part numbers for the dash by itself and the switch by itself i believe. You can either get the package or do as Eagle did and just get the switch. Goodluck

Price varies by Chevy parts supplier. Shop around for best price. I've seen the panel run from $75 to $120 for the identical part.

I must be getting old as I did not see any part numbers in this thread. I'm going to order both the switch and the panel. I like being able to monitor my gas mileage and tire pressure.

The panel part number includes both the panel and the switch installed. You wouldn't need to order both parts listed unless you wanted an extra switch. Sorry I wasn't clearer on that.

does anyone have the part number for the dic panel itself? i'm not looking for the panel/switch combo part no. which is posted all over, but just the panel. if no one has it, can someone who has the dic check the panel for the part no. that's on the back? thanks.

I have an 08 ext cab silverado texas edition. I think I would mainly want it just to program my mirrors to turn in automatically when I shut it off, can it perform this?

Here's what happens with the displays AFTER you install the switch.

 

Not ONLY are the pictures I show all that becomes available once this switch is installed. Several of the displays I show in the following pictures have more choices within them, but it would have taken quite a bit more time to show them all. Suffice it to say, this is a well worthwhile upgrade!

I just picked up my brand new 2010 Sierra Denali C/w the DIC switches, there are a few other item that dont show on your display notable the Instantaneous fuel economy V4 > V8 this is I think for only the 5.3 and 6.2L engines with the cylinder off loader, however dont feel bad cos for some reason I dont get it on my Denali either !!!!! WTF

Pull off the panel and see if the connection is there. Just as it says throughout the thread.

Holy shiiiit!!! Saving $45 do spend all day trying to cut a hole?? Isn't your day worth more than that??

I'm not a lazy person and I appreciate working on my own vehicle! But I don't know about you guys, with a price difference like that, to do something that you only get one try at? I'd rather just buy the whole thing then it looks perfect right away, INFACT THATS WHAT I DID, 10 min install and I spent the day washing my truck and cleaning my cab/dash instead!

Mine does not allow me to program that mirror behavior.

NO forum I've ever seen has ever been a command site that you had to do things just that way. Do it like YOU want to. Some people may have more skills, more time, or just want to do things their own way. It's OK if you like to detail, rather than modify. That's what makes this "hobby" so much fun: we all are different and we get to see what each other can do without having to do it that way ourselves.

dumb question,BUT where can i get a Dic and for how much and will they fit on my 01 Z71? also,they tell me my gas milegae,right?

 

Sorry Bud, you have a GMT800, and we are talking about the GMT900 DIC. to add the DIC to yours, you're gonna need a LOT of stuff to add it...

 

so i'll have to figure out my gas mileage the old fashioned way? is there anyway i can get it to tell me what im getting without having to do it the old fashioned way?

 

 

Not to high jack this thread and it is a good interesting one. It is sweet that you can add that to the new trucks if they didn't come with it. To answer your questiong GrapeSoad about attaining the info on gas mileage, you can get the Scanguage II. It plugs into your OBD II port. It can give you all kinds of info off your PCM. I have an 02 Silverado and that is what I did. It is a sweet little thing and is only $156 at Amazon.com with free shipping.

How do you get it to display the temp and direction? Is this another upgrade that would have to be done?

I know this is a old topic I have a 2011 seirra and was wanting the temp and compass wouldthid mod work for that or would that be a different one?
