Cleaning Corsa Tips

I need to clean up my Corsa tips on my truck. It is the 4" stainelss side exit/angle cut tip. I've read that most people like Mothers stuff but those posts were back in 2007 so I didn't know if there was something else out there now. I have also heard of using an S.O.S pad to clean it when washing and then to go back with a polish. Normal carwash soap doesn't get the tip very clean. I've read about brake cleaner but that worries me with using something that harsh on Stainless steel.

 

Anything else out there, or any other ways to get my tip clean again?

This will sound stupid to most but I have always used a microfiber and Turtle Wax Chrome Polish on my stainless tips. All 3 trucks before my current have had them and I would get compliments all the time that they looked chrome.

 

This stuff takes the road grime, tar, ect. off but I will say you need to put some elbow greese into it. But.... when done they look great. NeverDull is great too but I found it scrached my tips when the cotton got loaded up.

Thumbs up on the Turtle Wax Chrome Polish. It's been out for a good while and still does a great job.

I had heard that chrome polish can scratch the stainless steel finish. I guess chrome polish is more abrasive? I would have thought any/all metal polish would work on all finishes.

Polish does wont scratch tips. What will scratch it is the device you are using to polish with, or not turning to a clean portion to continue. Plus, polished stainless does not have a mirror like chrome finish to begin with so it will always look like it has spider webs in it. Your choice but I have had nothing but great luck with it, especially at $1.99 a bottle.

I use WD 40 and an old towel to get the black stuff off. Finish with small Mothers ball/drill with a paste wax.
