i have a 07 sierra nnbs with the heated power folding mirrors and the glass in the driver side mirror shakes pretty bad when im driving down the road. especially at highway speeds. the passenger side mirror doesnt move a bit. is there something that needs tightening or should i take it to the dealer while in my last few months of warranty?

thanks,

Mine does the same thing, mine is on 03 though. I took it to the dealer when it was there for service, same situation as you. But he just said thats normal and nothing really to tighten, except replace the mirror glass i believe is what he said.

Be interesting what you find out, as i notice this one mine as well and would like a fix.

See if it is just the glass....... Wiggle the glass all 8 directions...... If it is the clips that hold the glass and bracket on the motor probably is broke or has disconnected...... I have seen this a couple times.... Even on old mirrors.....

Edgewise if it is the WHOLE mirror wobbling tighten it up....

My 07 did the same thing and the dealer replaced the whole mirror. It was just the glass itself shaking when I was going down the road drove me nuts.

I have had 4 mirror assemblies replaced and the glass tightened numerous times. It was finally fixed with the TSB......You will laugh when you see it. Torque three nuts to 10 Ft lbs and then "cycle" the power folding mirror each time it happens. Your dealer should have the TSB fix

Condition

Some customers may comment that the left or right outside rearview mirror glass shakes or flutters at normal driving speeds.

Cause

• The mirror may have been accidentally pushed in manually or obstructed while folding.

• The mirror actuator screws may be loose, allowing the mirror to move.

• The metal spring (driver's side mirror) may not have enough tension to hold the mirror from moving.

Correction

Follow the procedure below to correct this condition.

1.
The power folding mirrors should be cycled three times to relearn position. Then perform a road test and check the mirror glass for stability. If stability is not fixed, proceed to Step 2.
Remove the mirror glass. Refer to Mirror Face Replacement in SI.
Check the torque on the four retaining screws on the actuator. Tighten

Tighten the screws to 1.13-1.6 N·m (10-14 lb in).

Bend the metal spring (driver's side mirror) up to increase tension engagement to the mirror housing 13 mm (1/2 in).

2.Install the glass assembly by pressing firmly, taking care not to allow the spring finger to unseat from its intended track in the mirror housing. Road test the vehicle. If stability is not improved, replace the mirror assembly. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement in SI.

No problem Matt! That mirror issue drove me crazy when we moved from Pendleton to Lejuene. Cherry Point Dealer finally found the problem and fixed it. Hope it helps
