High Beam Problem

Last night, when I went to turn on the high beams all the drive lights went out. I had the fog lights and low beams on with no problems, until activating the high beams, then darkness. I am pretty sure even the fogs went out. The high beam indicator was always working though.

 

I read through the archives and could not find much except maybe the problem could be the multifunctional switch?

 

BTW 2006 2500hd WT.

The fogs will go out with the high beams lights (unless you've mod'ed your truck).

So it's possible that both your high beam lights are done.

The High Beam fuse under the hood could be blown too

by default your low beams and fog lights will turn off when the high beams are activated.

 

there is a problem directly with the high beams, check bulbs, fuses, relays and wiring

I think it is wiring , relay, or the switch, because I can pull the stalk to flash and the brights come on, then if I push to lock the all the lights go off. If I toggle five or so times, then it starts to work.

 

I have an aftermarket warrenty, so I will try to find something else wrong and drop it off.
