i need a good leveling kit to bring up my front end 2"-2.5". its an 04 sierra 1500 2wd. stock. i want to stuff 285/70-r17's under there. ideas? and approx. cost?

I wouldn't go any higher than 2 inches. The Rough Country 2 inch kits are used by a lot of guys on here. The kit doesn't break the bank and it's very easy to install.

my bad! I overlooked that you have an 04. Just crank the torsion bars, or buy torsion keys.

no i have an 04 with coil fronts. according to rough country's website they do not have a kit for my truck

i too was looking for a leveling kit for my 04, i haven't had any luck

never heard good things about coil spacers, i hear they cause alot of trouble

was talkin to my supervisor a couple minutes ago he has done a lot with suspension and he said thats the best route to bring up the front.

and jro how are those bilstein hd's treating you? im lookin at getting a set

a tad stiffer then z71 shocks, when the trucks empty but with weight in the back it rides like a dream...i'd recommend them or the 5100 bilstein shocks, i payed about 300 for all 4 and they have a lifetime warranty so if they wear out you get new ones...oh i forgot to add the 5100s i think are adjustable......bilsteins HDs made the oem shocks look like rusty tampons

nice analogy. i ruined my stock shocks. i tried to fly higher than a c-130 but i got the front off the ground about 5 ft and the rear about 2. repeatedly. so mine are dead

:noway: you may need more then just new shocks then lol...i found a mag that has the oem shocks for sale and they are 30 bucks a piece if that tells you anything...p.s 30 bucks for none z71 shocks lol

i thought z71s came with ranchos or bilsteins

I used to have my bars cranked up. Had it that way for 80,000 miles. It worked great. I had it aligned right after I did it though. Looks much better. I just wish the gmt 900 had a good way of lifting the front. I don't want to cut the factory studs on the tower. And those strut spacers really are hard on the ujoint geometry.

Keep doing that and you will be replacing more then just shocks.
