The lightning bolts.... lol I dont have them, but I see a quite a few guys who clown on them because of the lightning bolt design on the sidewalls saying they make you go fast or something like that.

i see alot of people on here buy these tires. just wondering what everyone likes so much about these tires thanks for any input

I had them on my old truck. Lasted 19,000 miles. Have the Toyo's on my current set up. Hopefully they last longer

i guess i dont care if there ugly or what they look like, all im interested in is how they perform. if they only last 20k than there really not worth buyin imo. we're shopping for tires for our 08 silverado, original tires still on it with aobut 50k on them.

for performance & mileage... get the Toyo ATs. Ive never had a single customer complain about these tires and have personally had them last a good 70k. (i also had them on my truck and they performed awesome offroad and in mud.. exceeding expectations of an AT tire)

IMO the terra grapplers are fugly.

Yep - I had them for a while on my F250 4x4, and they were crap. Lasted about 20k miles and time to replace them. Not to mention I agree they are fugly as all he11.

I went with Coopers because of the price and good feedback. They were basically a Toyo copy for a LOT less $$.

As with most things...beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!

There are a couple of reasons that I went with the Terra Grapplers. First, for an AT tire they have a nice aggressive tread pattern. Secondly, I'm not sure if it is just an optical illusion, but for a given tire size the tread width "looks" wider on the Terra Grappler versus other brands in the same size.

There are two guys where I work that have the Terra Grapplers on their trucks (both 1500 series). One has just under 20K miles and they almost look new. The other has just over 50K miles and they still have good tread, but he is about ready to start looking again. He is happy enough with the Terra Grapplers that he is looking to maybe go with the Trail Grapplers next.

Most (if not all) of the tread wear issues I have read about were with 2500 or 3500 series trucks.

Nitto can keep the lightning bolts, I like the more agressive styling of my Hankook DynaPro ATM's. 10k and they still look brand new, and function superbly.

I got mine because I liked the look of them. I almost got the Trail Grapplers but they had just came out and I had no information on them. Mine have been on for about 7K or maybe a little less but they still look excellent. I think tread problems usually arise out of not taking proper care of them.. not sure.. but I love mine. I don't care about the lightning bolt, it has given me 5 hp in gains so idk what the big deal is :dunno: . I will more than likely go with a differnt tire on my next purchase but that's only because I want to change things up.

Ive had them before and liked them a lot. I sold the truck before it needed new ones, but it think I had close to 25,000 and about 40-50% tread left. The guy I sold the truck to (Dodge 2500 cummins 4x4) bought a set a while after I sold it to him and is already buying 2 more for the back because he drives it like he stole it but the front still look new and he has about 25,000 on his new set.

I have Toyo open country on my truck now, and I hate them. I will never buy another set. I have about 20% tread left with about 20,000 miles on them and they cup real bad. Ive messed the the psi and still they cup on all 4.

Im going back to the Nitto grapplers as soon as these wear out. I want a little more aggressive tread, but the main reason is I like them on my old truck, I found 2 on craigslist for $200 with 90% of the tread left, and my friend who bought my old truck gave me one with about 80% of tread left. So all I need to do is buy 1 more and I will have pretty much a new set of them for $420.

I think I'm going to get these tires, bc the M.T. ATZ's are just way too much. So Nitto it is most likely or Mastercraft tires?

ive got close to 50k on mine (if not more, i dont remember exactly) and theyre awesome. even treadwear. good in the mud and snow. i bought them because there are very few 305/70/17 size tires. my next are gonna be a mudder, if i was gonna get an a/t id definitely look at these again.

Lots of the Nitto stuff is a 4 ply rating. You have to be careful when ordering them. I had a customer come in complaining about how much he hated the Nitto tires because his P265/70R17 Terra Grapples only lasted him around 15000 miles on his 2500 truck.

Finally got him to trust me and we put some LT265/70R17's on it and last I knew he had around 35000 miles on them and they were still going strong.
