Stabilitrak Service Light

I was towing my travel trailer last weekend and the service light came on for Stabilitrak and said to service soon and said it was turned off. It shifted rough also, more of a slip and grab into gear.

I wasn't on a big hill or anything, I had just stopped to add water so the trans was cooled off some too. After shutting off the truck the light was off and everything seemed to be fine.

At the end of the weekend coming home it happened again, this time after I was back in the city. I turned off the Tow/Haul and the light went out and shifting returned to normal again.

Sounds like the easy answer would be not to use T/H but is drives a lot better using it when I have the trailer on. The trailer is no where near the top of the towing capacity so that shouldn't be an issue.

Any thoughts?

I have an 07 NNBS, Vortec Max, Z71 4x4, if it matters.

Hopefully it's under warranty, even if it's not I'd take it to the dealer. I'm guessing you have a locking rear diff, and I bet that's the problem. Does it throw any codes that you can look up?

I have an issue with stabilitrak light coming on, but mine ended up being a bad wheel speed sensor. That doesn't sound like your same issue. Hopefully its under warranty and the dealer figures it out for you.

Well I'm still under drivetrain warranty, but I'm sure they will try to wiggle out of that. I took it down to the dealer and they said it might be in history in diagnostics but weren't confident that it would be. I decided to save the $107 and try and get it sooner if it happens again. They said events like that stay in for 40 key strokes and I think I was outside of that. I hope that this isn't going to be a big issue.

I did see if autozone could read any codes and they couldn't, which I kind of figured anyway.
