Magnaflow Vs. Corsa

Im having a hard time deciding between a magnaflow muffler and a corsa. Im worried the corsa will b to loud. Is it alot louder than a magnaflow? Also whichever i choose needs to b legal in NY. Are they both legal?

Can't answer you about being legal in NY... but I can tell you, I've had both, and quite frankly, I believe the Magnaflow is louder inside the cab. The best part about corsa is theres no drone inside the cab,.. but your lucky with Magnaflow cause there isn't much if any at all.

 

You can't go wrong with either one. If your worried about how loud the corsa is, they offer Sport and Touring. I'd go for the touring since its quieter than the sport. Both are top notch

There is no comparison. Corsa has reflective sound cancellation. Magnaflow is just another packed muffler.

I agree with everything Steven said above,Although I've never had a Magnaflow system,Fellow forum member Kilo-9 has a Magnaflow on his '08 VMAX and I've heard it quite a few times,I'd say its just as loud,if not a tad louder than the CORSA "sport" systems Steven and I have on our VMAX's.

If your worried about being too loud.....Go with the CORSA "touring" system.

Call Corsa. They should be able to tell you if their systems meets all decibels laws.

Ok so...... Ive been looking for a corsa muffler. I cant seem to find just a muffler. Am i just dumb or do you have to buy a complete system?

Corsa will only sell their cat-back mufflers in a complete system. You can't but a cat back muffler by its self.

 

They do sell the smaller DB mufflers, but the biggest inlet outlet is 2.5 inches.

Ya. From what ive read 2.25 is the best size. So if i can find just a muffler im going to buy it. I looked on their site and ebay and no luck. Any help

I think Borla would be a better comparison with Corsa. I like Corsa but went with Borla side exits.

If you go to corsa's website and look up your vehicle and click on the full cat back system you want. When you scroll down to the right you can select installation instructions which pulls up the pdf of the instructions. On the first page they show the diagram of the system which includes the actual part number of the exhaust they use. I know for the 4.8/5.3 Corsa Sport system they use part number 14637 which can be bought as part of a replacement kit which I believe is just the muffler itself. I will more than likely be going this route eventually. So just look up the system you want on their site, find the product number for the muffler, google it, buy it, install it.

Why would you go with a 2.25" muffler? Your factory exhaust pipe is closer to 3". I believe mine was actually 2.75". I don't think I would go smaller than what the fatory has there already. I have the magnaflow and I'm very satisfied with it. Very little noise in the cab. Really if you have the radio on at all I don't hear it. Then again I have 4.10 gears so when running 75 and no radio it's enough you know you have exhaust but not bad at all.
