Navigation System Has Crashed! Help!

Hi,

 

Like to start by saying hello to all members and staff!!

 

I have a problem, hence why im posting this!! I have a 2005 Escalade and until recently have never had any problems with it, but the other day, my navigation system crashed and showed a total black screen, i put in my original GM Nav Disk and i get this message "Check the cd-rom" i have no navigation, no radio, nothing!!

 

Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone offer a solution and/or cause of this? i really dont want to take it to the dealer as i would rather if possible not have to pay anything!!

Just an extra Q on the same subject, does anyone know if there is a master reset button/switch for the navigation system?

Try the same trick as with home PC's unplug so unhook the battery for a few minutes. You will have a driving learn time of 50-100 miles but it may do the trick.
