Been having problems with my AC on the driver side, on autostart I will blow cold air out, but once I turn the key over, it stops & blows regular warm air, while my passenger side is COLD, but drive Anyr is just warm air, went to 2 local GM dealerships. They said my blend door is possibly broken. I was like okay, doesn't sound too much of a problem to fix.

Parts are about $100 & then where the FUN begins lets add another $900 on there?!?! wtf?! Labor is gonna kill me, bc they said that gotta take the whole dash out & everything. So its gonna end up costing like $1,000!! SO THIS SUCKS!!

Gonna get it done but NOT anytime soon though, turn the AIR on HIGH & point the Passenger vents @ me! Gonna take longer to cool off, but I'm gonna die by this heat!!

Anyone else had this problem in their trucks? Any cheaper ways out or Could I do this myself? I DONT have a thousand bucks just to blow gettin' the AC fixed on my side!

Just throwin' this out there, ...you might try unhooking the battery overnight. The HVAC system will have to re-calibrate and maybe this would fix your issue. It goes thru and cycles the blend doors and will set an error code if there is a problem. I had a problem with my '05 where it would only blow hot air (both sides) and this worked for me.

Thanks, I will try that tonight & see if that works. I hope it does!!

Did some more checking around on this... Check out his thread:

There is a procedure below for re-calibration that involves removing some fuses for a couple hours and then driving the truck without touching the controls for a while. This is sometimes required after the battery goes dead on you. Did the dealerships you went to hook it up to a Tech-2 and check it out or did they just guess at the problem? If they did and couldn't get it working that way, you may be out of luck...

Remove both HVAC/ECAS fuse in the underhood fuse block and HVAC1 fuse in the left instrument panel fuse box and wait 2 hours.

Re-install fuses.

Turn ignition on without starting vehicle. Wait 1 minute.

DO NOT touch any A/C buttons during this minute!

Then start vehicle. Let idle for about 5 minutes.

Drive above 45 mph as soon as possible.

Try another dealer, I have the same problem, but have been online researching for three days. I found out the cause is most likely the tempature door actuator. However, if the driver side (left) is not working, this is an easy DIY job. It's just under the dash, a couple of screws and a wire disconnect, and replace. But the passenger side is a different story. On that side the actuator is inside the dash, which requires a lot of labor time. On other posts driverside actuator replacement dealer price was $200-300. On the passenger side was $900-1200. I am ordering part and will install this weekend. I'll post the outcome.
