Wheels Gmt-900

Hi Guys,

 

Yes, I used the search and came up with nothing.

 

I have a brand-new (one month old today) 2010 Silverado 1500 4WD LTZ CC/SB Z-71. It came with the optional on/off road tires.

 

I would like to purchase another set of rims. That way, I can have studded tires mounted and ready for use when the snow and ice comes next winter.

 

Locally, I can find a few sets of 2006 and 2007 OEM wheels, prolly off of GMT-800 Z-71s, from the looks of them. So far, I've found absolutely no 2008, 2009 or 2010 wheels.

 

My question is this: Will the late GMT-800 wheels, 2006 and 2007, fit my truck?

 

I surely enjoy this forum. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes no problems with GMT 800 wheels. Just make sure they are 6 lug.

That's right, GM went to 17" wheels minimum to clear the 13-inch front brake rotors they introduced in 2004.

 

So, I'm looking for 17-inch or 18-inch GM OEM wheels from later GMT-800s or GMT-900s.

 

This is not a "fashion thing," so 17s &/or 18s are fine.

 

Actually, I believe the 18-inch wheels on my new rig look perfect. The balance of tire blackwall and wheel size really is balanced.

 

It's a spell until winter, so I might hold out for 18s off a 2010.

 

And 6-lugs for sure.

 

The thing that pisses me off is I have a perfectly good set of eight-lug custom aluminum wheels mounted with GREAT studded tires in my shop. They are left over from my 2006 2500HD Duramax. I paid like $400++ for the wheels alone. Now, I'll probably spend $400 for my new half-ton wheels, plus whatever the danged studded tires cost me. And I'll probably get lo-balled on my 2500 studded wheels and tires.

 

Ughhhhhhhh.

 

How great it would be to run into someone with a 2500HD who needs my mounted stuffed tires and he's got a set of half-tonners. Never happen.

 

By the way, this is my 67th Birthday ... Happy Birthday to ME, Happy Birthday to ME .......

Being an old fart, my birthday is usually generally ignored and it's a non-issue. This year was different, however.

 

We were at an AFF class at our Catholic parish last evening watching a DVD on, of all subjects, Hell.

 

After the video, several of the ladies came out of the kitchen carrying a huge cherry pie and an enormous pecan pie, singing Happy Birthday.

 

Yeah, it was very, very cool and it absolutely made my day/week/year.

Hey, I found a set of four wheels with tires on Craig's List. The asking price is $500. Too much or about right???

I would go with the 18's but talk them down from 1000. I would say 6-700 would be fair especially from an 08. If they were brand new with less than 500 miles I would see 1K being a good offer
