Whats up guys, im new to the forum. I just installed 2 12 compvt's with a probox under the seat and it sounds reall good, but being a bass junkie im looking for more bass. Has anyone tried fitting any subs behind the rear seat? is it possible?

Are your subs down firing? I have two 10s that are. They're under rear seat as well. It is a sealed enclosure from SubThump. I must say I don't see how I could handle any more bass. I have to keep the power down so I don't rattle everything loose inside the cab.

Yes it is down firing. Like i said man im a bass fanatic i probably shouldnt need any more but i was just wanting to know if it was possible because my amp can handle a whole lot more and i wouldnt mind one or two more behind the rear seat.

I know you can get a box to fit in the back of a crew cab in an 01 to 06. Not sure about the space in 07 and up. Take some measurements and see if this one fits from crutchfield.

That won't fit behind a CC GMT-900 rear seat. Basically you have 4"+/- at the floor and tapers up to about 1" at the top. That gets flattened when you pull the seats up to a flat 2"+/- behind. You can likely squeeze some amps back there, but only something that is cool running. A sub amp is likely to cook back there as there is no ventilation. You could add ventilation to combat that.

You are right about that. The space is real tight. I have two Alpine amps back behind my rear seats in my Ext. Cab. and they are very tight. There would be no way to put subs back there. I believe the CC and the EC have the same space behind the rear seats.

I would highly encourage anyone looking for a box for an extended cab or crew cab to really do your homework on your box. The performance between a down firing box (woofer cone points to the floor, magnets are on the top) and an up firing box are drastically different. I am not saying one is better than the other, just that they are different. You may think a down fire box sounds horrible compared to an up fire or vice versa. The subs/amp you choose will also have a huge impact on the performance. Find a set-up close to what you are getting and give it a listen before you buy. I personally think a down firing sub enclosure sounds better, but someone else may think the opposite. Just do your homework and it will make your purchase that much more enjoyable for you.

Love the truck, but hate the fact I'm limited to the options for the sub I wanna run. No room behind the seat, and for a downfiring speaker, the max depth for mounting is like 5.5" for ProBox, and SubThump is like 6.5" for mounting depth.

Wanna run Pioneer Premier TS-W2502D4 10" Champion PRO Series Subwoofer which has a mounting depth of 6-5/8", plus the outter rim of the magnet doesn't fit in either.

Plaaning on removing the back of a subthump box, raising it 1" and making it bigger, and then raising the back seats with washers.

Anyone done this before??????

I've seen it done before, but the rear seat was raised with new custom made brackets and it was raised 1 1/2". It was A LOT of work. It was in a crew cab. If those subs are truly needing a 6 5/8" mounting depth, I would just make a ring to fit the perimeter of the sub that is 1/8" to a 1/4" thick. The sub thump gives you 6 1/2" already. There should still be enough room under the box for the woofers to move. There is normally like 1/2" they give you for clearance to begin with.
