Replacing Side View Mirror Help.

Got my new side mirror in the mail yesterday. I've heard two things about removing the current mirror:

1. It's really easy. Simply remove the cover, unscrew it from the bracket, unplug the power, and your new mirror is ready to be replaced.

2. It's really hard. Have to remove the whole door panel to be able to remove it from the truck.

I'm hoping its the first option, but I don't know. Anyone know how this is done? It can't be too difficult. Thanks for any help.

Nothing terribly hard. You need to pull the door panel but that's a five minute operation. If you are somewhat proficient with tools, the whole job should take about 15 minutes. If removing the door panel is over your head disassembly wise, I recommend paying someone to install it (but they really are pretty easy on your truck).

No offense.

Thanks for the reply. Removing the panel is no big deal. It was more of a time question really. I'm about to go do this now in the parking lot at work. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you have it under control! Good luck!

Already done. This was a piece of cake. I did not have to take the whole panel off. I just removed the triangle cover on the inside of the door and the three bolts and power supply cable were right there. Took me 5 minutes tops and my new mirror looks great.

I've always had to remove the panel to get to the electrical connections. Otherwise the mirror is a piece of cake.

Yeah they used to hide one bolt under the door panel even after you removed the triangle piece.
