Extang Rt Toolbox Version

Hello everyone, totally new to this site. Just bought a '10 Silverado LS extended cab and got the GM Business Choice plan with the bed liner, tool box,bed rails, etc. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Extang RT tool box version. It looks pretty slick but don't want to buy it if it doesn't work well. Any opinions? Better alternatives with a tool box?

have one on my 2007 k3500hd and it works great. the only place you have to seal is behind the toolbox where it meets the front of the bed. i used a garage door seal cut to length and jammed it in there. its not perfect but that the only place i get a little bit of water. just have to find a way to seal it better.

 

i used the generic 20" toolbox from home depot and the install was really simple.

 

another nice thing is that you can still utilize the 4 rear stake pockets for cleats/hooks, which is nice for strapping down motorcycles.

Do you have a tailgate lock? If so would it be difficult to open it without unlocking. Granted I know if someone wanted to steal something out of the bed they could always slash the vinyl and have at it. One other question, does the covers really look as flat and tight in person as the one in the photo?
