Leftover Double Sided Tape

When I bought my truck the previous owner put the rain guards over the the tops off the windows, One was cracked pretty bad, so I ripped them off. I thought the left over residue from the "foamy" double sided tape would be easy to pick off with my fingers, but it's not. Anyone have a good method for getting this off? I've heard gasoline and goof-off, but I'm nervous about what those two may do to my paint.

3M Adhesive remover. I did the same with my truck (except I put new ones on). I ripped the old ones off, sprayed the adhesive remover on and let it soak, then repeated 2-3 more times. It came off relatively easy after that.

Best way to go to remove adhesive.
