Tire/rim Size Question

My first post...of many.

 

I have been reading and researching for quite a while and think I am coming close to a decision...at least to what tire size I want to get. I have an '09 Sierra Crew Cab with a 2" RC leveling kit. I am thinking about getting 305/60/18 Cooper Zeon LTZs. I have seen lots of posts aout 305/50/20s and was originally thinking about getting those, but decided I like the "more rubber" look after seeing a bunch of pictures. If I get 18x9 rims, how much offset would I need in order for the tires not to rub? All the discussions I have read just talked about tire size, but wouldn't the rim size have a large factor with the rubbing as well?

 

Basically, I want to know what size rim I would need to get in order to stuff a 12" wide tire into the wheel well without any rubbing and with just a 2" leveling kit installed. Is it even possible, or will I need to get a tire that isn't quite as wide?

Nobody has a set of 305/60/18s? My second choice is a 305/50/20. The rims I would like to get for that size are 20x9 with a 0mm offset. How would that setup work with a 2" RC leveling kit?

Most everyone runs the 285/65/18 with a 2" level.

I had 275/70/18's with my 2" level.

I can't say what backspace you would need to run the 305/60/18. I'm sure you can run them with the right offset but even then you may have to trim some plastic. Maybe someone who had ran the 305's will chime in. As most of the guys who know what they're talking about say (me not being one of those guys ...Yeah you can make them work depends on how much trimming you want to do.
